About ADG Therapy

Many people come to therapy believing there is something wrong with them. They struggle with anxiety, overthinking, people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, emotional overwhelm, or unhealthy relationships without realizing these patterns often began long before adulthood.

Often, these struggles are rooted in unresolved trauma, attachment wounds, emotional neglect, or relationships where love, safety, or acceptance felt conditional. The ways you learned to survive may have once protected you, but they can also become the very patterns that leave you feeling stuck today.

At ADG Therapy, healing begins with understanding—not judgment. Therapy is designed to help you recognize how your past experiences continue to influence your emotions, relationships, nervous system, and sense of self. As these patterns become clearer, change becomes possible. Instead of simply managing symptoms, you’ll learn to respond to yourself with greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and emotional freedom.

Whether you’re recovering from childhood wounds, navigating the effects of narcissistic family dynamics, healing after emotionally painful relationships, or simply wondering why life feels harder than it should, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Located in Cooper City, ADG Therapy proudly serves individuals throughout South Florida, including Pembroke Pines, Davie, Weston, Plantation, Southwest Ranches, and surrounding communities.

Acralys Diaz-Gonzalez, Ed. D, MS, LMHC

Dr. Acralys Diaz-Gonzalez is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a graduate of Nova Southeastern University. Her passion is being a therapist and helping people live lives they are excited about! She believes that people get stuck when they don’t know how to cope with challenges, don’t see a solution, or lose hope. But sometimes all it takes is looking at things from a new perspective. That’s where the power of therapy lies. She is a bilingual psychotherapist who conducts individual and family therapy both in English and in Spanish.

Dr. Acralys's clients are individuals who are high-functioning on the outside but feel emotionally overwhelmed or uncertain on the inside. They often struggle with anxiety, fear of abandonment, or losing themselves in relationships. Many are navigating major life transitions—commitment, adulthood, identity, or healing from emotional neglect—and feel frustrated that insight alone hasn’t been enough to create lasting change.

Dr. Acralys helps individuals who feel anxious, stuck, or overwhelmed in relationships heal underlying emotional wounds so they can feel secure, confident, and grounded in who they are.

Experienced Psychotherapist

Acralys Diaz-Gonzalez, Ed.D., LMHC, MS, is a licensed mental health counselor who works with individuals experiencing anxiety, attachment wounds, and relationship patterns rooted in unresolved emotional experiences. She offers a supportive, depth-oriented approach that helps clients understand not only why they feel the way they do, but how to create lasting emotional change.

Acralys integrates EMDR with attachment-focused and insight-oriented therapy to help clients heal from past experiences, strengthen their sense of self, and feel more secure in relationships and life transitions. She works especially well with individuals who feel “stuck” despite insight and are ready for meaningful, nervous-system-level healing.

Dr. Acralys got her career started at the Institute for Family Centered Services (IFCS) where she provided intensive in-home family therapy. Here she learned that problems that start with one family member can quickly become an issue for the entire family. This sparked her interest in helping not just the identified client, but the entire family system. Prior to this work as an in-home therapist, she competed her internship at Covenant House of Florida where she treated runaway, homeless and at risk youth.

Benefits of Counseling

Therapy can help you better understand the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may be keeping you feeling stuck. Many people find themselves overwhelmed by anxiety, self-doubt, or difficult relationship dynamics without fully understanding why.

In a supportive and non-judgmental space, counseling can help you gain deeper self-awareness, process past experiences, and develop healthier ways of responding

to stress, emotions, and relationships. Over time, this work can help you feel more confident, emotionally grounded, and better equipped to navigate life’s challenges.
